1. What is PaidAnswers?
PaidAnswers is an online question and answers platform connecting people searching for advice from experts. Seeking professional advice can be expensive, but PaidAnswers allows you to name your price depending on the importance and urgency of your question.
Anyone can create an account, ask a question, and place their fully-refundable deposit to have an expert answer their question in minutes! In return for their time, experts earn a commission when you select their answer as the best.
2. Who are the Experts?
Experts come from all walks of life. Experts enjoy helping people find answers to their questions using their vast knowledge and experience. If you are interested in becoming an expert read the expert FAQs.
3. How does this work?
Anybody can ask a question on PaidAnswers! Simply create an account and submit a completely secure and refundable deposit for your question which can be anywhere from $5 - $100 depending on the importance and urgency of your question.
Once you create an account and assign a question value, your question will go live on the PaidAnswers platform and experts will start answering your questions right away. Award the best answer when you are satisfied and the expert(s) will earn a portion of the question value.
Example: Joe has a question about his dog. Joe signs up for an account, asks his question and deposits $15 as the award amount for a successful answer to his question. Kerry (who loves dogs) provides the answer Joe was looking for. Joe reads Kerry’s response and awards her $15 for taking her time to thoroughly answer his question and for helping out his furry friend.
4. Do I have to pay to ask a question?
Yes. you must assign a dollar amount to every question asked on the PaidAnswers.com site. PaidAnswers allows you to get advice from experts at a fraction of what their services would normally cost! The award amount is their payment for the help they provide so in order to ask a question, you must place a deposit in the system.
Keep in mind if you are not 100% satisfied with any of the answers posted by experts, you can always request a refund.
5. Should I use PaidAnswers?
Why waste countless hours combing through search engines results for solutions that are more than likely bias, and outdated? Why pay hundreds of dollars to ask an expert the same question you can ask here for $10, $15, $20?
PaidAnswers connects you with thousands of experts and professionals with a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences. Getting fast, reliable answers from a pool of qualified people has never been easier or more affordable. Since experts compete to answer your question, you can get a second, third or even forth opinion for the cost of one question.
And last, but not least, PaidAnswers puts you in control! Ask for more details, get a second opinion, and award the experts only after you are confident in the answers you’ve received. The internet has never been so informative and reliable.
6. How do I ask a question?
To ask a question, go to the Ask a Question tab at the top of the site. You will need to choose a corresponding category, a question title and additional details so experts will have enough information to answer your question. Providing as many details as possible will help ensure your responses are quick and accurate.
Asking a question also requires a question value which is the completely refundable amount that you are willing to pay if your question is successfully answered. This question value can be anywhere from $5-$100 depending on the importance and urgency of your question.
If you already have an account, simply sign in and fund the question. If you do not have an account, the system will prompt you to create an account.
7. What is the question value?
All questions posted on PaidAnswers hold a dollar value assigned by the person who asked the question. Typical question values range from $9 - $35 depending on the category, type of question asked, and the overall priority.
If you are in a hurry and need answers fast, we recommend placing a high value on the question as experts typically seek out the higher valued questions first.
If you ask a question that involves a little research or the cost of obtaining the information is high, we recommend using a high value. If you are still unsure as to the question value, we recommend browsing through the existing questions posted in the same category of your question, and that should give you an idea of the appropriate question value.
To assign a question value, simply enter the dollar amount for the question in the text field when asking your question.
8. What type of questions can I ask?
You can ask any type of question. Your question should be very detailed and descriptive, and there is no limit to the amount of space you can take in the details section. The more information you provide the more likely your question will be successfully answered. HINT – the more details you provide, the more likely your question will be answered.
9. Do I have to pay for questions?
Yes, all questions on PaidAnswers contain a value. If you are not happy or satisfied with the answers to your question, you can always request a refund. PaidAnswers accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express. Your protection is our first priority so our payment gateway is certified and secure to protect your personal information.
10. Nobody posted an answer yet. What do I do next?
Consider posting additional details to your question. The number one reason why questions go unanswered is a lack of details. Often times experts don’t post answers because they are confused or don’t understand what specifically you are asking. If it has been a few hours without receiving any answers, consider posting additional details and indicate specifically what answers you are expecting.
Also, you can consider increasing the value of the question as well, which is likely to attract more attention within the community. Experts tend to answer higher valued questions first. To edit the question value, simply click on the Edit Question link on your question page located on the bottom right-hand side of your question box and enter a higher value at the bottom of the form.
11. What happens if nobody answers my question?
If no expert answers your question, simply request a refund and you will have the money back in your hands.
12. What if I want a refund?
Requesting a refund is not a problem! If you feel no posting successfully answered your question, or you did not receive any responses, you may request a refund. Keep in mind we rely on the honor system and we encourage you to award questions to experts for the time and effort they put into answering your question. A moderator will review your refund request and the funds will be deposited back into your account once approved, which typically takes less than 24 hours.
13. How do I request a refund?
The Request Refund button is in your account under my questions, located at the bottom of your question list. When you click on that link it will give you a drop down where you can select the question for which you would like to request a refund. The assigned amount for the question will be deposited back into your account or to your credit card within 24 hours after a moderator has approved the request.
Keep in mind you can only request a refund on open questions. If you have already awarded the question to an expert, you can not request a refund on that question.
14. I put my question in the wrong category
Providing the correct category is very important as this is how experts find your question. If you have selected the wrong category, or would like to change the category, open your question page and click on the Edit this Question link under your question. This will take you to a page where you can select a new category, edit your details or change your question value.
15. Can I change the value of my question?
Yes. Sometimes increasing the value with help you get more answers quickly. To change the value, open your question page and click on the Edit This Question link under your question. On the next page you will be able to update the question value at the bottom of the form. Please note at this time, you can not decrease the question value.
16. Can I edit my question after it has been asked?
Yes, simply click on the Edit this Question link and you will be able to edit your original question.
If you wish to add more information to your question, you can use the Post Response button on the question page. This places your response after the last answer maintaining the order of the conversation to make it easier to understand the discussion.
18. How do I close my question?
Your question will remain open until (1) you award an expert or (2) you request a refund.
19. How long will it take to get answers?
The amount of time it takes to get answers depends on many factors including your award amount, the category you’ve chosen and when you asked the question. Most questions are answered in 1-24 hours.
Be patient, as some questions take time to research and experts may need more details to answer your question. Remember the more details you can provide the better chance you have of getting the answer you need. Also note that experts tend to look for higher value questions first, so increasing the question value will encourage experts to answer your question promptly.
20. Is there a way to easily print the answers to my questions?
Yes. On the bottom left hand side of your question page, click on the Printer Friendly link that will display your question and answers in a format that is specific for printing.
21. How can I share the question and answer with a friend?
If you want to forward question and answers to your friends, click on the E-mail To a Friend link on the bottom left-hand side of the question page. This will bring up a separate page to enter the email address where you wish to forward the question and answers.
22. How will I know when an expert has answered my question?
PaidAnswers will send you an email whenever an expert has provided a response to your question.
23. Who awards the questions?
The person who asked the question is responsible to award the best answer(s).
24. How do I award a question?
If you wish to award multiple experts, click the link that says Split Answers which will take you to a page that will allow you to split the award amount amongst the different users. Additionally, consider offering a tip to experts as this is how they earn a good portion of their money.
25. When should I award the answer?
Award a question whenever an expert successfully answers your question. If you are still looking for additional information from the expert, let them know you are still waiting for more feedback. Being open and honest with experts will work best, but it is very important to keep the discussions ongoing and open. There is no limit to the amount of times you or the expert can respond.
26. What if the expert did an exceptional job?
When the expert you are working with does an exceptional job you should tip them for their hard work. Once you select an awarded answer, the system will ask you if you wish to tip experts. All experts earn 80% of the value of the tip amount, so this is where they have the ability to earn a great portion of their money.
27. Can I award to multiple experts?
Yes. You can award the question to one expert or many different experts. Simply click on the Split Answers link next to one of the experts you wish to award. However, you must select one expert as the official best answer for reporting purposes on the back end. You can decide to divide the award money in any way you wish.
28. What are tips?
Tips work just like they do in restaurants, and we recommend adding money if you are extremely satisfied with the experts answers. Keep in mind experts rely on PaidAnswers for their income and they all appreciate additional tips as this is where they earn a great majority of their money.
29. I’m not happy with any of the answers, what are my options?
We suggest telling the expert you are not happy and satisfied with their answers. Tell them exactly what you are looking to get answered and give them another shot. Many times, there are not enough details for the expert to provide a complete answer, so the more details you can provide, the greater your chances for getting the answer you need. If you are not satisfied with the expert answers, you can always request a refund.
30. What happens if I awarded the wrong answer?
Once you award a question to an expert, it becomes final. So make sure you award your questions to the right expert(s) before hitting submit.
31. After I award an expert can I change my mind and award someone else?
No. All awarded answers are final, and your question will be closed so please be sure you want to award the answer to that expert before hitting submit.
32. How do I answer questions?
Simply create an account and verify your email address. Once you have activated your account, you may answer questions. Keep in mind we keep a close eye on all answers and constantly evaluate all experts within the system, so we recommend going above and beyond on each and every answer you provide. We hold the right to deny or ban users of the system at any time.
33. How do I find questions to answer?
You can use the advanced search feature to locate questions that contain specific keywords or browse using our category structure. We recommend answering questions in an area where you would consider yourself an expert.
34. My answer has not been posted, why?
PaidAnswers wants to only provide high quality responses to people searching for answers. To help keep the quality of answers high, a moderator will approve answers of new users before they go live. After you have provided 5 quality responses that have been approved, your questions will be posted automatically.
35. How will I know if my answer has been selected as the “accepted” answer?
If your answer is selected, you will get an email and the next time you log into PaidAnswers the funds you earned will be deposited into your account.
36. Do I have to be an expert to answer questions?
Everyone is an expert at something. PaidAnswers connects people from all walks of life with all different experiences. If you know the answer to someone’s question, help them out by sharing your knowledge.
37. What if the user who asked the question has not chosen an answer?
If a user has not selected an answer, they may have not gotten the response that they were looking for. Providing more details or asking the user if they want more information helps to keep the interaction alive and encourages the user to award the question.
39. I don’t see the answer button, why can’t I answer this question?
If you do not see an “Answer” button, then the question has either been awarded already or the user has requested a refund. If the “Answer” button is not there then the answer is closed and is not accepting any more answers.
40. How do I become an expert?
All you need to do is create an account with PaidAnswers.com and simply start answering questions in your area of expertise. Once you reach $25 in earnings, you will receive payments via Paypal from PaidAnswers, so you will need to setup a Paypal account at www.paypal.com. If you are a new expert, all of your answers must fist be approved by a moderator before going live in the system. This restriction applies to all new experts and is in place to prevent abuse and ensure all questions are reasonably answered. For more information on experts, see PaidAnswers Experts FAQs.
41. What is with the orange dots on some of the answers?
Questions with orange dots are encrypted and won’t display to anyone until the user who asked the question deposits the award amount. Once the user pays the award amount, all of the answers will be available.
42. How do I change my email address?
Under My Account, click on the details tab and the first section listed allows you to change your email address. To see how PaidAnswers protects your email address, see our Privacy Policy.
43. How do I change my profile picture?
To change your profile picture go to My Account and click on the Profile tab. Here you can edit your username, location, information about you and your profile photo. When you are done updating your picture or profile information, click on the Save Changes button at the bottom.
44. What are subscriptions?
Subscriptions are basically emails that we send to you for categories, keywords, users and questions that you want to stay informed about. PaidAnswers will send you an email alert anytime one of your subscriptions has been updated, keeping you informed in the questions and answers that interest you!
To manage your subscriptions go to the Subscriptions tab under My Account. Anytime a new question is asked for something you are subscribed to, PaidAnswers will send you an email to let you know. You can update your subscriptions at any time.
45. How do I add a subscription?
There are two ways you can add subscriptions to your profile. First, if you are reading a question and you want to subscribe to that particular question, , click on the Subscribe to Thread link at the bottom of the question box. If you want to subscribe to categories, keywords or users go to the Subscriptions tab in My Account. Simply click on the button of whichever kind of subscription you would like to add and PaidAnswers will alert you via email when any of your subscriptions are updated.
46. Do I have to register?
Yes. In order to ask and answer questions, you must have a PaidAnswers account.
47. How can I delete my account?
If you wish to delete your account, email info@paidanswers.com with “delete” as the subject. You must use the email that you have registered with PaidAnswers.
48. What if I forget my username and/or password?
If you forget your username and/or password, go to the Forgot Password page and enter your email address. PaidAnswers will send you your username and a temporary password. You can reset your password in the My Account section under details.
49. What is an activation code?
To protect the system and users from spam, we require that you validate your email address to prove the email you provided belongs to you. When you sign up, PaidAnswers will email you a verification code to copy and paste into the Verification page to complete your email verification.
50. What information should I not share with others?
To protect from identity theft, scams and spam, never give any users or experts your social security number, your personal email, your address or your phone number.
51. How old do I have to be to use this site?
You must be at least 13 years of age to legally use this site, but you must be 18 or older with a valid credit card to ask questions.
52. Is PaidAnswers payment process secure?
Yes. PaidAnswers uses SSL (Secured Socket Layers) to ensure that your credit card and identifying information is encrypted and safe from identity theft.
53. What does PaidAnswers do to protect users’ privacy?
PaidAnswers works hard to protect our users’ privacy. We never sell or trade your personal information. For more information, see PaidAnswers Privacy Policy.
54. What can I do if a question or a post is offensive or inappropriate?
If you find a question or an answer that is offensive or inappropriate, click on the Flag Abuse link and a moderator will review in 24 hours or less. We rely on our users to help make PaidAnswers a safe and helpful environment by reporting offensive content.
55. What is PaidAnswers Membership Agreement?
PaidAnswers Membership Agreement is put in place to maintain a high standard of quality so we can provide a safe, enjoyable and useful platform for all of our users. If you feel that someone is violating the Membership Agreement that all users must agree to abide by, contact us with their username and your complaint at info@paidanswers.com.
