I have lost my desktop icons. There's there but I cn't get them to show on the screen. What to do? Thanks.

You mean you lost your desktop Icons? If that is the case:

Right click on the desktop > Properties > Appearance > Advanced
There you can add your icons back.

If you lost your Desktop Icon the one that shows the desktop:
Start > Search
Do a search in: %Root Folder%\System32
for: desktop
(Where %Root Folder% is usually C:\WIndows)

If you deleted your desktop Icons, check the Recycle Bin and replace them by: Double Click Recycle Bin > Highlight icons > Click Restore
