You really should take your dog too a vet as the dog could of pulled a nerve in thee back which can cause pain or they could of pulled a mucle try too keep your dog in one corenr which i know is hard and get them checked out by the vet they may say the dog is overweight and needs to diet, these are a few things that could be wrong but only a vet could tell you.

You dog's symptoms may indicated that he has pain in his hips or back. Some common sources of pain are spinal/hip arthritis, intervertebral disc disease, and even bone cancer. Your vet will need to do a complete orthopedic exam to localize the source of pain and determine if there are any neurologic abnormalities to the hind legs that could indicate damage to the spinal cord. X-rays may be indicated to look for arthritis, narrow disc spaces, or evidence of a bone tumor. Treatment will depend on the diagnosis. In the mean time, supplements that can help with joint function include glucosamine/chondriotin and fish oil. Contact your vet for dosing information.

There are many aches and pains that accompany large breeds as they age but the symptoms your describing are also linked to lyme disease which is extremely common among dogs in most of the USA. Sudden onset of pains with no apparent injury is the first sign. A simple blood test at a vet should answer the question and 30 days of antibiotics will clear him up. If left untreated major kidney problems can arise. If the symptoms seem to come and go this is again a strong indicator of lyme disease.
