My cat is following my every step and has been yowling all day. Is this a normal behavior of a cat?

What is the breed? Some breeds are very social and the fact that she is following you may also be a sign of being connected to you as security kinda like a kitten will follow its mother when really young, if this bothers you, try showing it to a designated spot as its own, every time it follows you. and be consistent....maybe put some warm milk by its bed or spot and let it know it has a secure spot in the house other then by you. But i would not be concerned as long as it has clean food and water.
